Juventus vs. Milan preview: Team news, prediction, date, and how to watch Serie A on DAZN – DAZN

Serie A’s title race takes another dramatic turn on Sunday when Juventus host AC Milan in Turin, a match that could reshape the top of the table. Both sides arrive with contrasting momentum: Juve have won three of their last four league games, while Milan have dropped points in two of their last three. The clash at Allianz Stadium arrives just days after Milan’s midweek Champions League exit, raising questions over their mental resilience. With only two points separating the sides, this fixture carries knockout-level stakes.

Why this fixture matters now

Juventus sit fourth, three points behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan, while Milan are fifth, four points adrift of the summit. A win for either side would move them level on points with Inter, keeping their title hopes alive. For Juve, a positive result would consolidate their push for a top-four finish and Champions League football next season. Milan, meanwhile, need to rediscover their early-season form to keep pace with the chasing pack.

The psychological edge could swing either way. Juventus have rediscovered form under Massimiliano Allegri, while Milan’s Champions League elimination has exposed vulnerabilities in their squad depth. The visitors have struggled with injuries in midfield, forcing Stefano Pioli to reshuffle personnel. This matchup is less about tactics and more about which team can impose its will under pressure.

Team news and likely line-ups

Juventus are expected to welcome back defenders Federico Gatti and Danilo after suspension and injury respectively. Midfielder Manuel Locatelli should return from suspension, while Wojciech Szczesny is set to start in goal. Milan will be without midfielder Rade Krunic due to suspension, with Tommaso Pobega likely to replace him in a double pivot alongside Sandro Tonali.

Juve’s attack will likely feature Arkadiusz Milik and Federico Chiesa, with Dušan Vlahović on the bench. Milan’s attack is expected to rely on Rafael Leão and Olivier Giroud, with Charles De Ketelaere providing creativity from the right. Both teams have injury concerns, but neither can afford to deviate from their strongest available XI.

Tactical outlook: pressing, transitions, and midfield battles

Juventus will look to control the tempo through Locatelli and Adrien Rabiot, using quick transitions to exploit Milan’s defensive lapses. Allegri’s side have averaged 58% possession in their last four games, a stark contrast to Milan’s 47% in their last three. The visitors, meanwhile, will prioritise compactness in midfield, with Pobega and Tonali tasked with stifling Juve’s creativity.

Milan’s high press has been inconsistent recently, and Juve could exploit that by playing out from the back. If Allegri opts for a back three, Milan’s wingers will need to track back quickly to prevent overloads. The midfield battle will be decisive: Locatelli’s ability to dictate play against Tonali’s box-to-box energy could decide the game.

This is more than just a league match—it’s a test of mental fortitude. Juventus must show they can handle Milan’s intensity, while Milan need to prove they can grind out results without their usual swagger. With both teams chasing Champions League football, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Kick-off is at 14:00 GMT on Sunday, with DAZN streaming the match live across its platforms. The winner will take a crucial step toward securing a top-four finish, while the loser risks falling further behind in the title race.
